If you’re a long-time Android user, you’ll know how easy it is to sideload/install third-party .apk files onto your device. However, apart from the common APK file format there are two other types – APKM and XAPK file formats which cannot be installed using Android’s native package installer.
That said, here is a step-by-step guide that explains each of the file formats and how you too can install apps with these unsupported file formats on your Android device without any problems.

First, go to Google Play Store and
Find the app called APKMirror Installer and
Download it.
Once installed, open the APKMirror installer and accept all permissions to set up the app.
Now tap on Browser Files to select and tap on the .xapk or .apkm file that you want to install on your device.
Once you have selected the specific app, tap on Install Package which takes you to another page where you will need to tap on Install App again to start the installation process. (You may need to view the ad)
Once completed you will get a prompt
That you have successfully installed the specific on your Android device.
